I started making sticks about 15 years ago. I found something interesting and fulfilling in making items from sustainable sources that bring pleasure not just to me but to the people who use my sticks. I source my materials in the main from sustainable sources ie ancient coppice woodland.

 

My work on string instruments started around the same time. I repaired my own instrument and set it up. I moved on to setting up and repairing for friends and have now built up a loyal customer base for violin, viola and cellos. I also repair and service bows. Having played as both amateur and semi professionally over my playing career I am able to combine my practical skills and musical skills for adjustments and set ups.
